Conway El’s Project SUCCEED Stays Busy!

It is hard believe but we are almost at the end of another school year. We have had a very busy year with some great activities. I want to thank all of our student’s parents for making our quarterly family nights such a huge success. We are all looking forward to our final family night on June 16th. Our last quarter family night will include a game of Family Feud and Minute to Win it. We are also pleased to announce that our Hip Hoppers from this last quarter will be performing at Schouler Park on July 4th. Our program has been amazing this year, none of it would be possible without all the hard work of the Project SUCCEED staff and support we receive at Conway Elementary. Thank you for all the things you do to support our program.
Conway Elementary School's Family Night is a SUCCESS!
Over
150 family members came out to Conway Elementary School, January
14th for a Spaghetti feast put on by the students and staff of
Conway El’s Project SUCCEED! Homemade meatballs and Caesar Salad
made by the Cooking Club accompanied a delicious spaghetti dinner!
Cookies and ice cream finished the meal, thanks to the Conway El PTO
and Abbott’s Dairy.
Later
in the evening, the different afterschool enrichment groups and
group leaders demonstrated the various clubs and activities provided
at the Before and Afterschool Program. Things like
Crystal-Growing science experiments, GOOP making, Exploration,
Scavenger Hunts, and the Drawing club. The performances on
stage were by the Hip-hop Dance club and Signing and Singing - Sign
Language club. A special Thank You goes out to all the
parents, staff and faculty members who donated their time and
effort, food items and much more!
Fun was had by all and it was an extremely successful event!

Conway Elementary Project SUCCEED is off to a great start. We had an
extremely successful first quarter and are engaged and excited about
the second quarter. We are offering a broad range of enrichment
activities as well as our daily homework club. Our Community
Learning group has been very busy reaching out to the local
community. The students created Halloween bags that were raffled off
at the Gibson Center and most recently created over 100 Thanksgiving
cards to be delivered with Meals on Wheels. We are also able to
offer Hip Hop classes twice a week this year and a weekly sign
language class. Other enrichment activities have been building on
the school days Science curriculum and encouraging students to stay
fit with physical activities such as running club and CATCH kids
clubs. We will be having our first Family Night on January 14, 2009
@5:15 to 7:00. All are welcome! We will be serving a spaghetti
dinner created by our cooking club and will offer: arts & crafts,
gym games, math and literacy games as well as a showcase performance
of the hard work of students and staff over the last few months.
