Bday cakeProject SUCCEED
 Celebrates
10 years!

Thank You to all who helped us celebrate on Saturday, May 8, 2010!  Conway School District’s popular after school program, Project SUCCEED, celebrated its 10th anniversary in style. Conway families, Project SUCCEED staff members, building principals, advisory board members and many other supporters, including; NH Representative Tom Buco  and  NH Department of Education’s Suzanne Birdsall, gathered at the Kennett Middle School Gymnasium for a fun filled day of activities, food and celebration.  Attendees participated in a plethora of family centered activities including: face painting, fortune telling, obstacle courses, craft tables, and hands-on science activities. Community partners, Tin Mountain Conservation Center and the Mount Washington Valley Green team also had tables of interactive, educational activities for all to enjoy.
Perhaps the most moving moments were when the “What does Project SUCCEED mean to me” essay contest winners; Olivia Couture, Jordanna Belle-Isle, Maria Drew and Tyler Bettencourt read (or had an adult read) their essays aloud. Another highlight was when the winner of the “10th anniversary t-shirt logo contest” was announced. The winner was 6 year old, Tristen Smith, from the Pine Tree School. The event culminated in a cake cutting ceremony and raffle drawing. A great time was had by all.
Project SUCCEED couldn’t have done this without the support of many generous community organizations, businesses, participants, family members, supporters, school officials and board members. Sponsors of the event were: Hannaford’s, Shaw’s, Pine Tree School PTA, John Fuller School PTA, 21st Century Community Learning Centers, Almost There, and some anonymous donors. Project SUCCEED is a great example of "It Takes a Village" and we really want to celebrate that. Since its inception in1999, Project SUCCEED has served over 3,000 children and logged in over 16,000 hours of service, 5,670 of those in the homework club. Here’s to another 10 years.
